Feeding center construction begins in Mponela
Workers broke ground on the foundation for a new feeding center this month and the structure should be finished sometime this fall.

Currently the Mponela feeding center has only a small building capable of holding about 50 children at a time. However, approximately 700 children regularly come to the center for feeding.

The building will have an office for the center supervisor, an eating area and kitchen. In addition, there will also be a house for the center director on the same premises. There are also plans to develop an orchard behind the new building.

The total cost for the project will be about $17,000.
